Bentonville Townhomes
A collection of six contemporary townhomes on an urban infill site, blending density with privacy through thoughtful massing and shared courtyard spaces.
The Bentonville Townhomes occupy a narrow infill lot two blocks from the downtown square. The challenge was to deliver urban density — six three-bedroom units on a quarter-acre site — while ensuring each home feels private, light-filled, and connected to the outdoors.
Site Strategy
The units are arranged in two rows of three, flanking a central landscaped courtyard. Each home has a private entry from the street or courtyard, eliminating shared corridors and fostering a sense of individual identity.
Unit Design
At 1,600 square feet across three levels, each townhome features an open living-dining-kitchen on the main floor, two bedrooms above, and a flexible lower level that opens onto the courtyard. Generous glazing and double-height spaces make each unit feel substantially larger than its footprint.
Community & Context
Exterior materials — brick, standing-seam metal, and stained cedar — reference the downtown vernacular while establishing a clearly contemporary vocabulary. The shared courtyard includes native plantings, a rainwater collection feature, and bike storage.
